CUP SIZE: This pattern is drafted for a 3"–4" difference between high bust and full bust, which is approximately a sewing C/D cup.

Sewing cup size is not the same as bra cup size.

If your full bust is more than 4" larger than your high bust, you will likely need a full bust adjustment (FBA) for the best fit.

BETWEEN SIZES: If you fall between sizes, prioritize the larger circumference between your bust and waist, then blend between sizes as needed.

THE DRESS Sewing Pattern

A plus-size digital sewing pattern of the viral dress that I started developing after I couldn't find what I needed: Something comfort focused that was breathable, polished, size-inclusive, and perfect for an Italian summer wedding.

Shocker (not shocking at all) it did not exist. So I set out to make a dress that could be worn bra-less without poky boning & wires.

After sharing the dressmaking process online, I got messages from women who were looking for the exact same thing. Now "THE DRESS" is being released two ways: as a finished garment and as a digital sewing pattern.

SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

RECOMMENDED FABRICS

TYPE: Woven

WEIGHT: Medium-weight to Semi-lightweight with moderate to medium drape.

CONTENT: Suggested content includes cotton, linen or other natural fiber blends for best breathability & comfort. Polyester or other synthetic fibers can be used.

PRINTS: Because this pattern has several front bodice seams, solid fabrics, small-scale prints, and non-directional prints are best for beginners. Prints with stripes, plaids, geometrics, or strong directional layouts may take extra yardage & planning to align.

OPTIONAL FINISHES

Bra Slides: Included in the original design for adjustable strap length. They may be omitted for fixed straps.
Back Skirt Zipper: Included in the original design for easier dressing. The zipper may be omitted if the wearer can comfortably pull the dress on over the head. For more formal wear, the zipper is recommended to help avoid disturbing hair and makeup when getting dressed.
Fusible Interfacing: The pattern was designed to avoid synthetic materials. Fusible interfacing may be added for extra bodice structure.
Boning: This dress was designed to prioritize comfort and avoid boning or rigid support features. If you prefer additional bodice support, you may add sew-in boning or use the seam allowances as boning channels.

THE DRESS is drafted for a sewing C/D cup, or a 3–4" difference between your high bust and full bust measurements. The included Fit Guide offers light guidance for testing the fit and determining how much additional room you may need, but it does not include a step-by-step full bust adjustment tutorial.

If you fall between sizes, prioritize your bust and waist measurements. Choose the larger size indicated by either measurement. Then you can blend between sizes as needed through the rest of the garment.

The illustrated Fit Guide helps you identify key body landmarks and recognize common fit, proportion, and placement issues in the bodice. It offers guidance on where adjustments may be needed but it does not include step-by-step pattern alterations.

No. The sew-along video is not sold separately and cannot be added after the pattern has been purchased.
